Gibson Fern with varnish finish

I was speaking to Big Joe on the phone recently and found out that there are some Ferns being finished in varnish. He says that they sound great but distinctively different from the MM. Anyone out there had one long enough to "play in" and what do you think? Anyone had the chance to compare to a Master Model. What is the neck like? What is the price? Thank you in advance for the reply.

It is very nice. I have played 3 of them all very good. One of them was as good as any master that I have owned. As far as what it is like? It is just a Fern with a Varnish finish. It sounds very different from the Laquer model though. It sounds much more mature with the varnish. The retail is around $11000 I believe.
