I just finished off work on this all-birch (pearwood fretboard) Kleartone from the late 1920s or 1930s. It's a great player with a lot of boom, pop, and sustain, but like old birch blues guitars it's very forward and direct, with not a whole lot of subtlety. Still, I was surprised that it sounds as good as it does, especially after jacking the top back into position.
