I was at a mandolin thing a couple of weeks ago and there was a guy there with a fender fm-60E like mine except that he had it hot rodded up with these nice humbucking pick ups and such and told me that he got the parts or maybe had the work done by someone in Maine. I didn't write it down and I've forgotten the name.If this guy in California is having someone in Maine work on his stuff I figure it must be someone known to people who frequent this forum.

Probably Steve Ryder.

Steve Ryder will wind new 5 string pickups.
[he worked on my 5 string, Got neck reshaped, re lacquered,
and a set of divided bridge pickups were added ]

If you have a different scratch plate made then you can make it so as to use common strat style pickups say,
with a Bar magnet down the middle so would work with a variety of string spacings..

I did that with My FM61se , used hand tools and some sheet from Stew Mac.
different pots and A better jack too. EMG 'select' stacked humbucker now..

original scratch plate has all the original stuff attached to it.

I think that that must be it. I looked at Steve Ryders webpage and he sells what that guy had. Cheaper than I thought too! Thank you, I knew someone here would know.
