Here is a photo of my recent "Yard Sale" purchase of a 1992 Aria double point mandolin that came complete with two pieces of PVC tubing jammed up inside the sound box to keep the top from collapsing. Nice shape but near worthless as a playable instrument after PVC sound posts fell out. Oh well!
I think the top collapsed about the same time as the stock market did and the PVC was part of a bailout plan prior to selling.
