View Full Version : Where the heck is Ted's hat, anyway?

Ted Eschliman

I'm on vacation, and so is my new MandolinCafe hat (http://www.mandolincafe.com/ballcaps.html). I'm going to try to post a pic when I have internet access on my trip, so you get to guess where the hat is. First one is pretty easy, though.

Ted, your hat's on top of your head. What do I win?

Is the head in Lost Wages?

Too easy. I thought it was photoshopped at first, but a little detective work and - viola! (not mandola!) [yes, I know it's voila]. Your hat was, as the two guys above me said, in Las Vegas for that one.

Ted, you need to lighten up a bit on your vacation man! That is a "work" face you have there!

That face says, "Is this a parking meter or a slot machine?"

Mark Walker
Mar-21-2009, 8:40am
Martin - TOO funny! We all know it's a parking meter - he's OUTSIDE! :)

If he were inside, his scowl would be deeper - unless of course the slot machine was spitting out $6000 in quarters!

I ordered a hat this week and PayPal has been dinged, so I'm anticipating its arrival here shortly! I'll need it to keep my head (complete with thinning hair) warm as it's 30 degrees and snowing here again....:disbelief:

Ted's out of reach now but has been mailing me new locations where he's taking his family. Looks a little warm where he is right now.

I have it on good authority (thanks, Facebook) that Ted is actually on a 7-day cruise off the coast of Western Mexico with his wife and daughter. I'm guessing his hat is with him. What do I win?

Mike, Last time I was down there they had camels...and marlboroughs, and winstons as well as most American name brand smokes. :))

BTW, my 1st Cafe hat arrived yesterday...I'd put up a photo but I don't have internet access right now...well not at home anyway...ShHHH! I'm at work right now :))

These hats are REALLY nice!

Fred I was in Las Vegas the night they blew up the Dunes...They rigged it up so it appeared like the pirate ship at Treasure Island gave her a broadside which was cool...man that was a while ago. :disbelief:

We had the annual St. Patricks Day parade today in downtown Raleigh.
The Weather was great and our band had a fun time in the parade being pulled behind a 1951 John Deer tractor. The car is part of the Amran Temple Hillbilly crew.

That's a decoy. He's on a 12 countries in 7 days tour. Not much sleep on these I hear.

Shooting drinks through my nose! I have been accused of having a bizarre sense of humor before, but that post proves it. I have NO IDEA what you're talking about, but it cracked me up.

For anyone confused (as I was) Ted's response of further south must have been to my initial answer. I edited it to be LAX quickly but apparently not before Ted saw it and responded.
Ted your saying further south threw me. The only airport I could think of it possibly being would be San Diego and that isn't San Diego's airport. You had me doing googling California airports.

Curious myself, I found the raccoon on this picture:

But bizarre humor it is, no doubt.

Awe Man! I wish I had been on this thing earlier. I would have used the one about Marlboro, Winston, etc. From scrolling through the 'replies', I see that there are a lot of mandolin players out there who have some extra time on their hands. (I'm letting my fingers rest)

Hm. Last shot: leaving San Diego on your cruise ship? Does the Coast Guard patrol boat with front-mounted machine gun make you feel safer?

Ted Eschliman
Mar-23-2009, 7:05am
Los Angeles Harbor is the correct answer. Got another picture; don't worry about the location, I just wanted to gloat a little. This landlocked Midwestern Plains prisoner doesn't get much opportunity for this!

My new Cafe hat is perfect for snowblowing up here in the High Sierra ( 3 hours north of L.A.). As you can see in the picture, things are slow at Breedlove and they are now also making snowblowers.

Just to cap this off (pun intended), I'm back in the saddle again. My drive to work this morning with the snow flying, and last Friday was this:

Someone should have PhotoShopped some better-looking abs on the dude behind you and your lovely spousal unit!

Welcome back Ted; too bad you have to deal with the snow and cold. Just cold rain (no snow at the moment) and WIND here in West Michigan; they're talking snow here again early next week. (April showers... SNOW showers) :crying:

Looks like you had a great vacation! :)
