Has anyone here tried Thomastik Infield strings on an A5 style?

I've had the TI strings on my Davidson flat top for about 9 months now. Although I loved the tone from the start, I wasn't initially keen on the smoother feel, but I've grown accustomed to the feel now. But what suits one mando won't necessarily suit another, and the Newell is a very different mando. I've got J74s on it at the moment, but want to change for something that will have a lighter feel.

Has anyone got any comments on TIs for this type of mandolin, or any other recommendations? I know I definitely don't want to go to a heavier gauge than the J74s, but other than that I'm open to suggestions!

I think about the only truly sound advice anyone could give is to try it for yourself and make the judgment. Every instrument and player is going to react differently, and strings are such a personal choice after all. I love TI starks on two of my instruments, but hate them on another. Who can predict?
