I thought I posted this already this morning, now I don't see it, if it shoes up twice, I apologize...

Anyone know where I can find a simple easy tab, tef, or midi file of Road to Columbus? I hear that alot at jams, would like to learn it.
Thx! http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/mandosmiley.gif

You go to www.mandozine.com, click "Practice tunes", then click "TablEdit files", and then you just type the title, level, etc, and it should give you at least 3 examples of Road to Columbus.
It did just a minute ago when I tried.

If you canīt find it, just give me your email-address, I got a couple of RTC tef files in my computer.

Thx sjusk, I should have mentioned I already saw those. Looking for a "beginner" version. I have the best luck with those right now....

That tune gets its characteristic vibe from several 3-5 and 1-5 double stops, fairly straightforward.

I looked at a Roland White version I have in a book, I thought it would be a beginnerīs version, but honestly, I think Stangelandīs version is the simplest of the 5 I know of. If the dobble-stops look "scary", just cook them down to one note. I do that all the time in the beginning of learning a song.
What I would do: Get kind of familiar with the tune inside my head, and start playing it as I think it should be. I often do that when Iīm trying to learn a new song, and I make a lot of mistakes, but eventually it gives me an overall feel of the tune, and an opportunity to find a way in. (in most cases....hnnnnnn)
