Mitch,

That was a wonderful review of last nights show. You don't, however, have tell us your daughter dragged you there. It's okay to just be you - we're all friends here :))

Honestly, they gave a good show. They didn't lip sync (there were a couple of off pitch moments), and they seemed like nice kids. I would like to have heard the mandobird, though.

I'll be sure to tell my 12 year old daughter tonight...though that'll probably lead to giggling and blushing (her not me)...

I'm not a fan, but do respect that they at least play and sing...if they can survive child stardom who knows where they'll end up...

Ask her to get a photo of Nick and the Mandobird if she can ... emando.com is in want of teenybopper traffic.

:))

Image googling of "Nick Jonas" mandobird yields zero hits. "Nick Jonas" mandolin yields plenty of hits, but no pics of a mandobird or mandolin as far as I can tell.

First of all, there ought to be a "Don't drink and read" warning on that post! :)) Second, if you can stand to listen to it, you can hear the mando here (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a_cXhBy78T4).

Oh no - We can't keep our Jonas's straight! So which one plays the mandobird? Is it Nick or Kevin?
I think Nick plays it and Kevin just holds it for Nick when Nick isn't playing it. C'mon guys, I'm not gonna get to sleep with this question left open like this.........

if you made it that far on the vid, notice the mando is ditched just in time to rock out. hmm...

My kids informed me that it was Kevin who played the mandobird. I am so sorry. Let's see... is it Kevin, Nick and Joe Jonas or Larry, Curly and Moe Jonas?

Martin Jonas (yes, those imposters are trading on the power of my name and good looks!)
Or, you're the "other" Jonas brother ... the one they don't talk about!

One of my son's favorite musicians is Asheville, NC's Billy Jonas -- who is, like, an actual musician with, like, actual talent who, like, graduated from, like, Oberlin Conservatory. But when I try to tell people about him, the first question I get: "Isn't he one of the Jonas Brothers?"

Ted, that photo deserves a caption contest.

"Grandmother, what big hands you have!"
"No, it just looks that way because the guitar's so small."

"Fame, fortune, and millions of screaming girls -- still, I won't be truly happy until I can get the right strings for this thing. I heard about this place called Emando.com...."

Couldn't make it far enough in the video to actually see the Mandobird, then stabbed myself a couple times in the left eye for punishment for clicking the link...(not really, because then I couldn't see all the youtube videos of Sam Bush, Chris Thile, Bill, Dawg, etc, but the thought did cross my mind!)

Um, there is no MandoBird in the video. Kevin plays a cheap F style for a bit.

I was at a church Christmas production walking down a crowded hall and some older gentleman thought me and my friend Drew were two of the Jonas brothers. Very random moment, and he just happened to pick the only two guys in the youth group who played instruments! Who knew!

Nick--er, Kevin--is now immortalized at Emando.com (http://emando.com/players/Jonas.htm). I'll have to check my traffic reports in a couple of months and see how much is coming through that page.

OK, first of all I'm SO disappointed that it's Kevin, not Nick, :( playing the mandolin, because Nick is MY fave, he's so cool and writes songs and plays more than one instrument, :mandosmiley: but then I'm all like, WOW!!!, cuz at last SOMEONE in the Jonas Brothers plays it, and how cool is that? :) If you watch the video, you hear it come in about 1:55. And yeah, it sucks that they drop it when they start to rock - that's SO old skool, using it just for the "old-timey" segment, cuz WE know how mandos can rock. :mandosmiley:

BTW, would someone who has access to their CD with "Lovebug" on it please look at the credits and tell us if it's a studio musician or a Jonas Brother playing it? Gazillions of fans want to know ...

And oh yeah, Martin Jonas should totally say he's the Jonas Brothers' funny uncle or something. And someone mentioned Billy Jonas - I saw him at the Philadelphia Folk Festival OMG maybe ten years ago. He's done some wonderful stuff with found objects and kids and stuff like that. Kewl!
