A good lineup will be there. I don't know if Zan McLeod will bring his bouzouki or not...

Teada, Danu, Leahy... lots more!

I'll be there.

Karl Wohlwend, a very good friend of mine, will be there with Knot Fibb'n (http://www.knotfibbn.com/), his locally popular band, too. He has a nice ca. 1920 Gibson A, but it rarely comes out for gigs. His tenor banjo will almost certaily make an appearance.

A went to the Dublin Irish Fest to see Gaelic Storm. It was my first time. I spent seven hours watching several great Irish bands, including GS. It was a tremendous experience for my entire family. It has motivated me to trade my large stack of Bluegrass mandolin music for Irish tunes. I am about one or two clicks above beginner level and rely mostly on tab. Can someone recommend a couple good Irish beginner mandolin tunes and direct me to the tab? I am hooked.

The fest was very nice, but because I got off into some shady places playing with pals, I missed some of the best 'small' acts... I didn't seen any mandolins but the one I brought, and it only got played once. <GG>

I heard two really nice Doug Dieter Kennaquhair 5-course citterns, found out that the zouk player in Teada plays a Phil Crump, and loved hearing Liz Carroll with John Doyle, and Danu.

Had an awesome time at the festival, really enjoyed all the music I heard. In the music exhibit tent was a maker named W. A. Petersen http://www.petersenstringshop.com that had a couple octave mandolins and zouks, seemed like pretty nice instruments. I picked a couple and they had a nice tone, fairly easy to play. In one of the larger merchant tents I saw a mandolin for sale from a brand I had not heard of, and checked the price tag which read "$85 w/ case" so I didn't inquire further.

Had a blast listening to all the performers and picked up albums from Danú, Gaelic Storm, and Slàinte Mhath. It was really a great event and I'm definately going back next year.

Wm Peterson always brings some very nice instruments, but he'll make you a much nicer one in a custom order! Also, you can usually find a couple of his Level 1 or Level 2 instruments at Elderly. Nice stuff!

I was there for a few hours, mainly to hit the advanced bodhran class, but I also checked out a few acts. If any of you saw New Yankee Consortium Sunday afternoon, the guy whalin' away on the mando was a manager where I work (Doug Rudy).
