This is made by Andreas Köpke (http://www.bouzouki.de/index.html), Germany. It was made for Guido Plüschke (http://www.bodhran-world.de/). The design on the back was a painted deco found on a old chair. The copy on the guitar is inlaid.

What a work of art! Any idea of the sound--have you played one? Gorgeous looking....I like the luthiers who are putting their own distinct touches on instruments again. Wish the car makers would do the same....Yvonne

No, I have not played it yet. I´ve played another tenor from him, as well as a couple of his other instruments, like the Jazzbouzouki and the Martin mando replica. I also own two mandolins from him.
I can say that all these instruments are fabulous.
This tenor was ordered with a relative big body for a tenor, therefore the proportions seem to be a little odd. I think it´s nearly jumbo size.

What a great looking tenor!

Big bodies on tenors, although not real common, can sound very good. A friend used to own a 30s Gibson Advanced Jumbo tenor. VERY rare animal, but sounded great. I wish I could have afforded to buy it from him.

Not my style but pretty amazing none the less -- I really like the tuners though. Didn't Gibson use tuners similar to that on the Super 400 archtops jazz guitars made in the 1930's? Kind of reminds me of the Chrysler Building!
