Refinished 1917 Gibson F-2, seems like a good price at $1,995! Anybody here buy this mandolin? http://www.bernunzio.com/item.php?sku=0812449 (http://http://www.bernunzio.com/item.php?sku=0812449)

Blonde refinish, looks like a repaired crack alongside the treble edge of the neck, currently "on hold." Want me to go down, play it and report back? It well may be sold already.

That's a very nicely done refinish on the top. The back looks a little heavier. Personally I'd call it "orange" or "pumpkin", because there is a vintage natural/blonde finish without as intense of a color as well.

I was interested in that one but my wife wanted heat instead. It would make a good player, no worries about messing up a pristine vintage instrument.

That's a real bargin I think. There is no top sag so I don't see how you could go wrong with that mandolin for that price.

Nice offering Bernunzio's!

Looks like someone's already dealing for it or I would be.

The Bernunzio page indicates that there has been repair to the peghead. From picture #2, it looks like the peghead may have been broken off.

Yeah, looks like the whole peghead was snapped off at the nut. While this would be a deal-killer for a collector, it is a major bargain for a player's instrument. A competent repair would be as strong as new.
