I like that! Is the pup adjustable? It looks surface mounted.
Does the bridge have piezo's?
It looks very similar to the design I am working out for myself.

The humbucker has the ability to be raised up and down, and the bridge saddle has a piezo. Each pickup has a volume control and an overall tone control.

I did a quick google and did not see a website. Is there one?

Clif:
Wesley Johnstone is a one man operation in Oakville Ontario. He has made a few 8 string electrics, but mine is the first 5 string that he has built (Serial# 001-5L). I don't believe he has a website at this time, but his email is: wesley.johnstone(at)sympatico.ca

I suppose that is a solid center strip of wood thru the body, given the thru the body string ferrule setup, with hollow wings on the side ..

The Original guitar Les Paul designed was a thick plank with side 'wings' of an archtop of the Epiphone company , as I read.

Gabe, very nice looking mandolin! What do the strings attach to on the top?

It looks like some through-body holes where the tailpiece should be.

Skip, as mrmando commented, the strings come through from the back. 5 strings didn't space well coming from under a standard tailpiece.
