i got this awesome mandolin about 4weeks ago from mandolins.net. it absolutely rocks. it plays awesome and has killer tone and it is still brand new. it's the best mandolin i have ever had by far. i have owned a weber fern, rigel ct110, capek, bush model gibson, and a pricetone. here's the back.

check out the top of the scroll. no filler needed. by the way jiri doesn't use a cnc to carve. i absolutely love the triple binding. i think it is the best mandolin for the 3500.00-4000.00 range

Congratulations. Looks alot like my 2000 Lebeda Premium. Let me tell you, it only gets better. It took 6 months-1 year to really open up. Mine is sooo easy to play with volume to spare. I only wish it sounded a bit woodier! Been looking for bridge saddles that might help. Right now, I have a graphite saddle that Greg Fisher slapped on it. Definite change in tone- more in volume.
Overall, a great instrument. Enjoy!

Cragger alot of builders use wood filler in gaps between the binding and wood where it is not perfectly cut.

Dan Beimborn and I love ours Too...! I got mine on Nov 28th. Sound is getting better every month.

One of these mandolins is not a Lebeda..

That's easy,
the one with the "Lebeda-Tailpiece" is a Lebeda. The other one also has a very dark sunburst that would be unusual on a Lebeda.

I'd say the one on the left is a poor copy of a Lebeda. The fingerboard is wrong, the scroll shape is different, the giant finger rest...I mean.. what the heck is that? Strange plant thing inlay on the head stock. The f Holes are more slender and vertically oriented. Small frets...geesh the list goes on and on.

i think the lebeda mandolins are awesome. i fell in love with mine as soon as i played it. jiri's workmanship is absolutely incredible.
