Hello again, Well I think I'v got it sorted out. I have decided to buy a Epiphone mm30 with the eboney finish. The music store guy said he could get me the mm-20 also ( which is a bit cheaper ). My question is this, is the solid spruce top of the mm-30 worth the extra money over the select spruce top of the mm-20 ( to tell you the truth, I don't have a clue what this means ) or do they differ in other ways?

I don't know about the MM-20, but I own an MM-30 and love it!

I have an MM-20. I like it. Not played the other one though...
The only real difference (apart from gold/chrome & decoration issues) is the wood for the top.
I think the MM30 should sound better because of the solid spruce top, but I'm not sure the difference will be very noticeable on such entry-level instruments...
