Original Case?

I just recieved a unique (one-of) Gibson F5 that came with a loar style case. The case has been around the block but nothing serious and its really really cool. My question is should I put the case in the closet and buy something to carry this around in OR just use the case for what it was intended.

I guess I would like to know how much the original case effects the value of an instrument.

Unless it is the real deal 1920's Loar case I wouldn't be too concerned about continuing to carry it in it if it looks so cool. These are not the best cases out there and many don't fit the F5 snug. If you value your F5 I would get another one for protection.
