I think this is pretty close, it is A minor which uses the same notes as the C major scale. Notice the two parts of the song with two chords per measure, the changes come pretty quickly and then stop and hold the last chord ringing out. This is just from memory, so if anyone sees something that needs changing, please feel free to edit.

I've heard these sections played in various orders. The above is from the Jethro version. Officially it's a choro so you may want to refer to Mike Marshall's book. Besides Jethro, and Dawg, and Peter Ostroushko, I've heard great versions by Charlie Parker, Paquito d'Rivera, and Frank Vignola. The Homer and Jethro version is notable not only for when it came out(1960 or '62..) but also it's spirit and the way Homer voiced and swung the rhythm chords. Dynamite!

Goodness! I thought I knew this tune. I've been playing it - or what I found on the web in standard notation - for 6 or 7 years, and the third part that I play does not have the key change to A. It stays in C. Can somebody point me to an online MP3 or sumthin' where I can listen to this version?

Jethro Burns Quartet guitarist John Parrott has corrected me, thank you John!

In the A major section, move to F#7 to Bminor rather than C#7 to F#m.

Sorry about that. No more posting at 3 A.M....

Anyone else like the sound of the Am as an Am6th? I also use a C6 just because I like the sound.
