1] #I don't want to buy it.
2] #I want someone else to buy it and let me play it.
3] #Failing that, I want someone else to buy it and tell us all what it's like to play.
4] #I want to see the hardshell case.

I always though Tony's instruments just needed a little bit more inlay. They're usually so plain jane.

I purchased a bunch of Tony's mandolin components a few years back. #Based on each and every component that I received, I would say that if his instruments are of the same quality level as his components, then this instrument would sound about like a heavy paper bag strung up (or perhaps as good as strong cardboard)...and the instrument would be just about that stable as well. #Worst mando-like junk that I have ever seen--some of the wood components self destructing after a few months of sitting in my living room. #Even the obviously cheap shoe polish that he used to ebonize (I just now coined that word) the fretboard disappated after a few months, leaving me with a greyish brown fretboard...twisted/warped, but with great inlay work.

Quite humorous at any rate. #The fretboard (again, nicely inlaid) had kind of a "fan" effect (non-parallel) on a few of the fret slots, while some of the upper fret-slot spaces suddenly began to get wider. #An inlay on one of the pickguards looked like a cross between a mermaid and a pig...a merpig, maybe. #I threw it away after it simply broke in two one day (well after almost warping into a full circle over the course of a few months)...kind of miss the old merpig from time to time.

Tony seemed like a really nice guy in our emails. #I think that he is simply clueless when it comes to lutherie, despite his museum-level "credentials".

That is a handsome instrument, the two-necked mandolinola. #Would look nice with one of those merpigs on it, for sure.

That mandolin tail piece right there in the crotch where the lower bouts merge - that looks problematic.

While it would be cool to try a double necked instrument - so many of them look scary - like those pictures from Ripley's Beleive it or Not.

I say fill it with concrete and use it as a boat anchor!!http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

at least it'll keep it from warping... http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif

Man, that thing is ugly. But, I guess beauty (if there is any) is in the eyes of the beholder.
