Well, I've had my Morgan Monroe zouk for a couple weeks now. Changed out the strings to D'Addario J67's, tuned to G-D-A-D, tweaked the set-up a bit and got it sounding pretty good. It's really fun to play. I like the drone sound a lot, and already have worked out one of Roger Landes' songs, as well as a few of the songs we do in our band. I have noticed that it sounds a bit thin with the lighter strings, and I'm hoping after playing it a few months the tone improves. I'm thinking about adding a cast tailpiece. It already has a changed out Weber bridge which seems nice. I have a feeling though that I'll want to upgrade to a more expensive zouk in the future, but no $ right now. For now I'll just keep at it and have fun! #http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/cool.gif
