I really like the Guitar Pro software for learning guitar music, and I have a few songs for it with some mandolin. Even though it's called Guitar Pro you can do mando tabs as well.

Can anyone help me find some mando tabs for Guitar Pro, if they are out there? Or are most mando players using a different software?

I need to learn some new songs! Thanks http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

You might want to try the free Tabledit software and the multitude of compatible TEF format files on the Mandozine web site. Tons of great stuff.

That was a good suggestion because I discovered that Guitar Pro can play .tef files so I can use both formats http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

Use Tabledit. Export the file. Import it into GP. It sets the tab at 4 strings. Have fun playing with it. You might not even have to export it if GP imports TEF files...can't remember.

I just open the .tef files in Guitar Pro with no problem. It does all stringed instruments, plus drums and other stuff too.
