My friend (and customer) stopped by to pick up his new mando and brought along a couple of others for "show and tell". The one on the left is mine, the rest are his.

No, only three of them are mandolins that I made. Second from right is only a Nugget.

Hey John, I got to play an instrument with your signature on it the other day from 1992(?). It had the Monteleone style scroll and a brown-ish burst. It sounded very nice and looked really good as well! I'd love to see in person what you are doing these days, and by the pictures, it sure looks nice! Bravo.
Glad to see you're managing to hold on to your personal mando. #If I ever get back up your way, I'm jonesing to play it, and see how light it feels.
BTW, that's my kind of lawn, too. #I never was much for cutting grass.

The real question is - is that a MAPLE tree they're leaning against? http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif
Nice collection there! Nothing like a photo like that to set off additional MAS symptoms...

That's a walnut tree, in fact, and that's one of the reasons I keep an old tennis racket by the kitchen door. Lawn mowers and walnuts can be a dangerous combination.
(Yes, Clark, I do mow once in a while, when the mower is actually working.)
Another good reason to keep a tennis racket handy, especially in April when they first come out, is carpenter bees. http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif #
Sorry, that was OT. #Exquisite mandolins, all of 'em!

I keep another by the door of the (board and baton) shop for the carpenter bees.
