Well, I just finished restoring this c. 1930 Concertone banjo-mando and I must say... it's a treat! There were several issues with it... finish needed to be cleaned up, new head installed, and the hacksawed-in-half tonering had to be put back together... someone was using it as a flesh hoop! 12 of the hooks & nuts are also new as is the neck brace, which was missing as well.

Here she is on our freshly-painted porch!

And here's a close-up of the vintage Grover tenor bridge I slotted for the mando.

Here's the secret to the great sound on this... a new-fangled Yellowstone head (information can be found here (http://www.banjohangout.org/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=104102)). I made a flesh-hoop for it out of a coat-hanger which worked just fine.

Those tuners are actually Waverlys... which surprised me... usually you'll find "parts bin" style tuners on these.

And here she is getting a workout. http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

I'm tempted to actually swap my tenor banjo for this little banjo... haven't been playing my tenor much... and the rule now is "one in, one out!"
