Does anyone have any information on the Derrington-signed V70411? I just purchased it and trying to find out any info on it. I purchased it from Sam, and he couldn't recall who he bought it from....someone down south?
Thanks for your help.
Dave

He's referring to a Gibson Master Model and that's the serial number. Charlie Derrington would never have signed any Epiphone mandolins.

Thanks...According to the thread, it looks like a fellow name Chris Stanley owned it. I tried to send him a message but for some reason it says that the message cannot be sent to this recipient. Anyone know Chris?
Thanks,
Dave

I just heard from a lil bird that your new mando sounds great!
Would that be Chris Stanley the builder?

Hi Mike:
Fancy meeting you here....yes, word travels fast. I went to First Quality yesterday and brought the new Gibson there. Lo and behold, a big red bus with Doyle Lawson and Quicksilver were inside jamming when I walked in. Doyle was playing one of the new Sullivan prototype banjos (without picks, sounding great!!). I pulled out my Derrington and let Doyle play it. It sounded great with him playing it (can't figure out why I can't make it sound that way...??).
I also reminded Doyle that he played my Cherry Master Model a couple of years back, and he remembered it also.
Later,

I am told by Chris that he bought it originally, but sold it to a fellow by the name of Ron Coleman (in Michigan?). Does anyone recognize that name?
Thanks for your help,
Dave
