We all know most tuners are at 440. So i have my mando tuned to greenlight on my tuner. right before band plays check it with onother tuner and according to it its sharp. I know both these tuners are set on 440. I would bet that if I tried 4 different tuners they would all show different. So do you all tune up to the same tuner ? http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/mandosmiley.gif

I gave up.

If I disagree with my Intelli then I fine tune until my ears can live with it. If I start checking with other tuners I just go nuts.

My entire band moved to the same brand tuner.

good move. My former banjo player insisted on using one with a needle type meter, swore it was more accurate. I'm sure it was because he paid about 80 bucks for it. But that tuner never matched any other tuner and was a pain to use. And people don't use/see them the same either. Some folks think if it's close it's good enough.

How about getting a tuning fork(presumably accurate) and calibrating your tuner to it. Have your band mates do the same. This assumes your tuner is adjustable, I know my Intellitouch is.

I've had problems on tuners when the batteries were getting low. Fresh batteries are always in the gigbag now.

While most tuners default to 440 at first it is quite possible to accidentally set them to another value. Perhaps this happened to you?
Among the many tuners I own and the many my friends own there's not a one that tunes different than the others.

My tuners all seem to agree that my A tuning forks are precisely in tune. Maybe I'm just lucky that way. It is easy though to inadvertently hit the calibrate button on some of them.

Electronic tuners are such a pain-in-the-...
I've mostly given them up. We tuned by ear until those things came along some years ago, and it still works fine for me, until I get in a situation where there's too much noise to hear to tune, then sometimes I have to dig through the case and find the tuner.
