Sorry I need to vent...

...I have used the same pick for the past 3 years. #It was a 1.5 mm pro-plec pick. #I lost it at church on Sunday and now I have to use a replacement (which is exactly the same pick)

However I used this pick so much I feel that I've worked hard to distress it. #The new pick, feels different, produces a different tone and feels a little stiff. #My old pick had its own sound that was developed after years of use. #It developed a great tone and punch.

What is the solution? # http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/rock.gif

Start all over and develop this pick over the next three years and beyond #http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/sad.gif

Thanks for letting me vent #http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/coffee.gif

get a couple new ones and keep them in rotation so they wear at the same rate. next time you lose one you have a spare ready to go and then you can add another new one to the rotation to start breaking it in.

Or, you could be like a large percentage of us who have several dozen in the case and rotate through them on a regular basis. That way you never develop a favorite, and when one comes up missing, you'll never notice.

So you only buy one pick at a time? I order at least a 1/2 doz or more so I'll always have extras. You can never have too many picks handy.
