Back binding and the neck - assembly

I'm at the point where I have my top bound and my back routed for binding..

Before I bind the back, should I attach the neck? The binding will go around the "button" of the neck..

It will work either way, but I like to attach the neck so I can shape the heel flush with the button part. Then I cut the binding channel, and the binding fits nice and tight. Since you've already routed it, I think I would still fit the neck first in case the binding channel needs to be altered to match the heel shape.

I install the neck before the back is glued on so I don't really know what I would do in your situation, but I think it would be easier to glue the neck before binding.

Thanks. I attached the neck and am now doing the binding.... must go slow with the hat and ivoriod binding!
