I would like some help with the orrect location of the bridge. I play the strings open, OK. I fret down the neck and they all seem to be just a bit sharp. At the twelfth fret, the note is about 1/4 step too sharp.
Is the bridge a smidgen to close to the fretboard? Or is it the other way around. http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wow.gif

the key to remembering how to do this is as follows:
longer string = lower pitch
shorter string = #higher pitch

test intonation by comparing harmonic at the 12th fret to the fretted note at the 12th fret
if the fretted note is sharp, bridge moves away from the nut, thus lengthening the string.
if the fretted note is flat, bridge moves towards nut, thus shortening the string.
