I'm going to sell off one of the herd, and want to let you folks help set the selling price. Theres not any recently sold on here or E-@#$. I'll take an average after a few days, having weeded out the suggestions that are fueling the fire of obvious personal gain, and post it in the classifieds. Sound like fun or just a bad idea?

I just wonder if the information you get will be of value.

If someone is not making you an actual offer to purchase, its just talk.

My thoughts anyway.

Gonna tell us which one you're selling? Or is that part of the fun?

$750.

Without seeing it or knowing what it is I'd say €450 Euro http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

One o' these kids is doin' his own thing,
One o' these kids just doesn't belong...

If that were my collection, I would sell the Kentucky http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif

I assume you are going to sell whichever one gets the most reasonable offer. This is my take on the selling prices.

'84 Flatiron A5-1 $2400
'85 Kentucky KM1500 $2500
'86 Flatiron a5-jr $1000
'27 Gibson A-jr $1600
'88 Flatiron Cadet.. $600

I think this may be outside the posting guidelines...

· Refrain from using the message board as a point of selling items to others or for the purpose of discussing or linking to items you are selling. Please limit selling activities to the Classifieds section of this web site or other external locations.

It's fair to ask what folks think the fair market value for an instrument is it's another to ask for it in the context of "I'll be selling in the calssifieds soon." We wouldn't want everyone doing that.

Remember that the selling price doesn't always equal the buying price. It's all about supply and demand.

Jamie, you are too kind! This does seem like a stunt to generate interest to me. IMO sumibuilt.

My apologies if that was not your intent. http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

Have to agree with Jamie on this. If we can keep this hypothetical, and not be engaging in commerce in the Message Board (rather than Classifieds), we'll give the thread a long leash.

I guess I could have kept it beige-with-hubcaps asked the same ol' question whats an 85 KM1500 worth...Was just trying to spice things up a little. Pull the plug if you like. Didn't mean to muddy the waters.
