If you like a bright tone with more sustain, try a fossalized ivory bridge. I have one for my Sam Bush F5 and I love it. You can order the saddle itself and use your current bridge to avoid any fitting, You can go to Greg Boyd for this. Greg Boyd (http://gregboyd.com/ShoppingCart/ViewItem.asp?ProductCode=WalMandoTopFlt&Quantity=1)

I use a Randy Wood Bridge also. The RW is a quality bridge that produces a good "bluegrassy tone" and usually adds volume. You can order the RW bridge from StewMac. StewMac (http://www.stewmac.com/shop/Bridges,_tailpieces/Mandolin_bridges/Randy_Wood_Mandolin_Bridges.html)

Both of these are quality bridges. I don't think you could go wrong with either. http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/mandosmiley.gif

You might try one of those one-piece bridges too. It really seems to depend on your taste, the bridge material, and the mando itself so don't toss the original.
Bill Bussman put one on his #325 oval-A and it has a wonderful tone that lacks the tubbiness that some oval holes seem to have. But I have honestly not tried anything else on there so I can't compare.

Bit of a long shot this . . . I have a Freshwater Octave Mandola (with a VERY slightly radiused flat-top) - and having improved the action by 1/32" or more at the nut end, would now like to fit an adjustable, compensated bridge instead of the 'classical' (straight plastic? strip), single foot type (~5" wide). The current bridge is about 3/4" in height but the string action is a little high and could be improved (maybe with a bit of stoning of the odd fret), BUT . . . I think I've searched every relevant topic/thread on this site and cannot find a recommendation for a compensated bridge for a flat-top Mandolin/Mandola . . . any ideas folks?

Regards T.P.
