Steves new ellis

Steve Smith and Hard Road played at the Pinch and Swallow saturday night, Steve was playing his fresh Ellis which sounded great thru the akg condenser, was not able to get a clear shot of his right hand because of the extremely rapid movement in the dim light. While its true that theres no money above the 5th fret, there sure is a ton of tone and power a full octave above the 5th with this fine instrument. What an upgrade from his oldwave bar beater!

Steve is an exceptional player. If you haven't heard him, do yourself a favor and get one or two of his recordings. You won't be disappointed! (NFI and all that good stuff.....)

At least he's holding it. Last night I was in a bar and Sharon Glichrist left her Gil sitting in it's case on a table with nobody around and she was in another area where the crowd was. I kept staring over at it in disbelief. It was near the door even.
