For some reason it seems a perfect match for Chris Teally http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wow.gif

Cool color and I'm sure it will look sharper after finish.
Does it glow under a blacklight?

rose#1
Jun-18-2004, 6:22pm
no black light required for this one http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif I have about 80% of the binding scraped and it really brings the color out more.

What flavor hardware are you going to use, nickle or gold? I bet they would give 2 totally dfferent looks.

Very cool, its very nice work. are the frets normal size?

rose#1
Jun-20-2004, 9:43am
The frets are larger. same size as a D-28. Thats all I have been using lately. seems everyone is going w/ a radius fret board and the bigger frets.

This is the finished product. This is exactly like the one I am building for Jeff Parker of the Lonesome River Band.

Yippee!! #This is my mando!! #And I'm so excited I can't hardly stand it. #This is my second Rose mando and Darby tells me that the sound #on this one may even be better than my first. #He says this one is a real freight train!!
I like things that are different - that's why I went with this unusual color. #I think it's gorgeous!! #Darby hopes to ship tomorrow so I will give an update as soon as I get my excited hands on it. #Yippee, yippee, yippee #http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

Just took No. 16 over to Darby's for a label, and got to try out No. 18 while I was there. Katmando3 is getting a great mando! Awesome tone (to my ears) and a beautiful instrument. I didn't want to put either one down. Nice work, Darby!
