I have a book bought only a few years back that has some really nice Italian mandolin tab by Terrance Pender called 'Italian Mandolin Vol I'. #It has tab for 15 pieces I remember from recordings my parents played while I was growing up. #Unfortunately on his website (see below- there is a review) he says that it is now in copyright dispute and you must watch his site to see when it is resolved. #Try to find one-it is very good, with nice arrangements of tab and notation.

Why tab when standard notation is so simple and well-suited to the mandolin? I never met an Italian oldtimer who didn't read standard notation.
