Hi everyone. Here is my latest: Red spruce top and eastern maple the rest of the way around. I had the privilege to meet up with Brad Einhorn, the first owner of one of my instruments, at the Joe Val fest this past weekend and finished this one just in time to take it along (thanks to my new UV varnish dring booth). When this one opens up, she'll be a monster.

It is really hard to shoot this color, but it's basically a golden brown fade.

Very, very nice. Other than being a monster when it opens up how does it sound now?

Nice work,
Ken

Other than blowing the banjos away at the JV fest http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif it's very balenced, sweet, and poppy throughout the range. I'll get some soundclips up soon.

this mandolin is super impressive. it already has a pretty strong chop and great volume. much the reverse of other mandolins, the notes up the neck seem to get stronger and stronger with a lot of sweetness.

the color is really unique from anything i've seen. almost like a caramel burst. the pictures are pretty good but a bit dark. got some good pics of frank wakefield enjoying it. will put them up soon.

Looks pretty clean, especially considering how few you've built. Keep up the good work.

Here is a soundclip of some random stuff. Follow the link and use the player on the right to play "Mandolin Number Three Test".

Great Job all the way around. I really like your rendition of the fretboard extender as well. Im thinking of doing something very similar on my next F-model.

PS. beautifull job on the scroll as well

Dan, I will have to remember "Golden Brown Fade". That is a very good looking mandolin.

Thanks everyone. It's sounds better now that what it did in when I recorded the sound clip so I'll have to record another.

Here's another clip of the mandolin. The tone is beginning to mature. There is a touch of reverb on the track.

Very nice Dan - both the Mandolin and the playing.

You've got it going!
