Hubert (Keef to some of y'all) 's long awaited-by me at least- book on pre-war Washburn instruments has arrived courtesy Amazon. And just in time for a nice weekend read. It is from Centerstream publishers, and Hal Leonard is distributing.

A cursory first glance looks fantastic, with lots of catalog photos and descriptions, dimensions, materials, etc. etc. Kind of like having access to a portion of Jim Garber's hard drive.......

Check it out. He is a good fellow and besides, this is an important resource.

Yes, I invited Hubert into my hard drive. I think he may have gotten lost there. http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

I just got my copy today and I can barely contain myself. Wonderful book! I was esp blown away by the shrine instruments including banjos which I have never seen. Excellent mandolin section too. Congratulations to Hubert for job done very well!
