Does anyone have the jazz LP's, or a CD, these guys put out? I believe one is called "Playing It Straight" and the other is "Ain't Nessessarly Square" or something similar.

I sure would like to get my hands on those two.

My copy is a CD of both albums, it was a Japanese import.
I'm not sure if these are still in print or not. You might
try looking on EBAY! Do you have Back to Back, Jethro Burns
& Tiny Moore? That is great jazz mando & is available on Acoustic Disc.

I was able to find the Japanese re-issue of both CD's from a Spanish Distributor about 3 years ago...it was worth the hassle. Some of the best albums, ever.

99.99% sure that the LPs and the twofer CD are *long* out of print.

Here's a very extensive vinyl discography:

1967 LP 12" RCA VICTOR LSP 3701 (US) IT AIN'T NECESSARILY SQUARE

Some places to look (other than Ebay) are:

http://gemm.com/

There is one of the CDs on GEMM for $35, but from a very poorly rated seller.

Thanks for the comments, I'll check out the links mentioned.

I do have the Back to Back CD that Grisman put out, it is great.

Those 60's recording are so awesome. They really spell the time in which they were recorded, from the tunes recorded to the whole vibe. I mean 'Call Me'? I don't get more period than that! I have mint (I mean mint) LPs. The cover drawing of the later one is very hip. There some great YouTube vids which capture some of that time.

This talk about the great H&J records got me listening to them again. Just fabulous. And the late great Dave Peters noted out very faithfully Jethro on I've Found A New Baby. In C chord, there are loads of licks in there that can be applied all over the place, one you get em under your fingers. Some of the licks are classic jazz lines.

I found both CDs about two years ago, I believe on Amazon. They are Japanese imports and I believe still in print over there. To my ears the first is much better, the second is over-arranged (hokey organ etc.)

I loved the ones with the Jokes too,
the majority of their Recordings.

like this one:

Jethro to lady at bar: Mind if I give a pregnant lady a ride home?
Lady: I'm not pregnant.
Jethro: You ain't home yet.
