Ear training for the mandolin

I have really been working on using my ears more and was hoping some folks here have used the Ear Training for the Mandolin by Brad Davis. If you have I would appreciate any reviews. Thanks -Scott

I have the course and the technique is essentially, hum/sing the notes or melody and then play the notes to match the singing. #He plays a few notes and then sings the notes, and then asks you to mimic the same technique. By singing, I mean 'da da di di da' (or something like that).

It didn't have an impact on my playing but I'm sure there are others here that will say it was great for them. #Probably a matter of learning styles.
