It barks like big dog and bites just as hard. Its more of a mando then I am a player but I hope to grow into it. She's got that bluegrass sound. http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

Dear Cheesecutter: Can you forward photos and serial number along with any background information on your mandolin to fatt-dad AT comcast DOT net? I'm assembling a pre-Gibson Flatiron archive and would like to include your fine mandolin!

Is that a set of ELK antlers that mandolin is nested in? (Along with music, my other passion is hunting!)
Nice looking mandolin!

Welcome to the Flatiron family! That is one pristine-looking mandolin, and the coloring just knocks me out. You should have many years of fun with that instrument. Enjoy!

Wow - another bowhunting mandolin player, I thought I was the only one! Haven't chased any elk yet, just whitetails here on the east coast.

Beautifull instrument!!! and ditto on the east coast bowhunting. I spend alot of time thinking about my mandolin while sitting in a deer stand.

That was a 6x6 Roosevelt that scored #3 all time with a bow in Oregon. He stuck it this last season. It was a monster.

John & Ken - nope, you're not alone in being 'mandolinist bow-hunters!' #I too spend a lot of time thinking about my mandolin while pursuing the wily whitetail here in soutwest Michigan. #(Too bad mandolin music can't call bucks in!)
Jim - Thanks for the link on that Roosevelt Elk video! #Dagnabbit - that's a shame his hat/helmet camera was cocked to the right and you couldn't see the initial action! The later footage was great though!
I can see an upcoming thread: #"My trophy (insert game animal here) and my mandolin!" # http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif
