I have a 1916 A-1 Gibson. Sometime over it's history the bass side tuners were replaced - by an upside down set of treble side tuners. Is there a decent replacement with the same spacing as the originals? Anyone have an age appropriate bass side or pair for sale? Who made the originals, and is it possible to find them on other, cheaper mandolins? Any advice would be appreciated! http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/mandosmiley.gif

You can pick a set up on that auction site. #They are there regularly. #Make sure the string posts are the same because that is where differnt builders do different specs. #In short, make sure they came off a Gibson. #Be prepared for $150 or so. #The mandolin looks clean enough to deserve the right tuners.

Your odd side is from the later '20's. Someone might want to trade
