Very pretty.

The mandolin, I mean. http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif

As for the song, I'll listen to it as soon as I can open the files you sent me, Jeff— still no luck. I'm sure it's a good one!

Cheers!

it should be available now or soon in the misc, musings

go to the tune forum (upstairs) http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif # there is a link... hopefully its there, there is many quirks going on....

its the bronze strings, I am not sure about my intonation in some parts, kinda buzzed at the time, but it was truely a one take shot, so I said "lets keep it" ( for now)

Sorry, Jeff, couldn't find it. Let's wait a bit and see if the glitches go away. As for the files you e-mailed me, sorry again, couldn't open them from any of my computers, either at home or at work.

Ehm... what bronze-wound strings are we talking about? Point is, good ones should not affect the intonation of an otherwise well set-up instrument.

actually the intonation of the ghs seems awesome and perfect. #but when I wrote the song on silver strings, it sounded thicker. I think it was my ears, inept tuning abilities under the circumstances...

I guess bluegrasstjej was able to open the files from the Yahoo group page. I'm unable to open your files, jeff. I am able to play all the other files that are in the "files" section on that group.

If you, instead of opening them from the webpage, instead download them to the computer, you can listen to them. Very nice music. very well done if you composed that yourself!

Susanne, I tried that method. Neither Internet Explorer nor Mozilla was able to download the file to my computer.

It must be frustrating for you, Jeff, and also fo us who want to hear your playing. Is this (http://www.mandolinproject.150m.com/misc.html) the musing page you refer to. I don't see any mp3 from you.

It looks like it may not be posted as yet. The moderator says "A place for other recordings by members. Upload your tune at Yahoo!Groups in the Miscellaneous Musings folder and I'll post it here for a month or so."

That's weird! Maybe it depends on what system you are using. My computer is quite new and I have Windows XP. It takes most difficult stuff.

Bluegrasstjej,
How did you access the file? I just tried it on my relatively new PC also and cannot see any file from jeff on that page. Can you post the URL? Perhaps it is on the site but not linked. Jeff, what is the name of the file?

The only place I know Jeff has posted it at is Mandolin Project (http://launch.groups.yahoo.com/group/mandolinproject/files/). Both files are at the bottom of this list of files. I downloaded them to my computer by right-clicking and then choosing "save target as..".
But you have to be a member of this Yahoo group to download the file.

jeff:
I hope you realize what a great fan I am of yours. http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

I think I spent 20 minutes or more just trying to hunt down the tune and then another trying to get it to play on both of my computers. It is a Windows Media file but it kept bringing up a Microsoft page asking me for migrating something. Perhaps it was the Mediterranian tinge of your piece.

I listened to it once but it sound very soulful and your playing is very expressive. More later.

the only song I wrote is the one for rebecca. I have written a few tunes on bazouki and a appox. 7 minute piece for two guitars that everyone seems to like. we are recording that one next. maybe I should mail a CD to someone more computer literate to have the songs posted... if there are any volunteers?http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/rock.gif

thanks jim and susanne and anyone else who enjoyed.

one thing I have learned..the beach is bad for a mandolin.. what a shame, they go so well together.:(
