I received some good advice on this forum before I set off for Ireland a few weeks. The best advice was to check out a place called Cobblestone across the Liffey from Temple Bar. Had it not been recommended, I wouldn't have ventured in the place because it looked rough at best. However, once inside, I felt right at home. The front portion is reserved for muscians and the place has the feel of nicely worn shoes(if those walls could talk!). Sessions begin at 9:30 most nights and the talent is excellent. The other places of interest I found were in Temple Bar(such as Gogarty's). They didn't work for me because of what I'd seen and experienced at Cobblestone and also, they where busy catering to the tourist trade which was very brisk. We had a great time in Dublin and will get back as soon as possible. Thanks to whoever tipped me off to Cobblestone.
