I don't have any, but without being dismissive of the Pogues in any way, Shane's current/recent outfit the Popes, are as good as anything you'll see, and he does all his classic Pogues numbers with them. So don't be disheartened if the rumour is untrue.

Popes' mando player Brian Kelly is a young champion and was spotted last weekend up at Orkney folk fest playing up a storm in sessions while enjoying the odd jar.

Of course you could always keep an eye out for ace Pogues tribute band The Brogues (http://www.thebrogues.net/) ...

Brian's good fun, also a whiz on the tenor banjo. Check out

This is what the great Phil Chevron himself said about it on the shanemacgowan.com forum:

"If you are a Pogues fan living in Glasgow, Newcastle, Birmingham, Manchester, London or Dublin and are hoping to see (the 1987-1990 line up of) The Pogues one last time, December 13 through December 23 (2004) would be a really bad time to leave town."

So, what are you waiting for? Time to start packing your bags and buy flying tickets! http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/cool.gif

Guess it's not a promise though..

And yeah, The Popes are quite good.
I think we will see something extra with the Pogues though, and alot more songs.

I asked Terry Woods about this.. not confirmed but likely to happen. If you're thinking of going to the London show (if it gets announced & confirmed!) let me know http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

Have you read the new interview with Phil Chevron by the way? It's really good.
