Just thought I would share this picture of my F9. #The date on it is my daughter's birthday, which is the coolest thing ever.

Sorry about that. The first attempt to post image failed, so I modified my first post to pull the image from my website.

The best "New" Gibson I have played was an F9 owned by a friend. I asked Danny Roberts (Grascals and Gibson) about this at Supergrass last year and he said Gibson is trying to hit a home run with every mandolin they make, no matter the trim level. I hope this one develops to be as sweet as my friends. It is already a very beautiful instrument!

I love my 2004 F9. When I bought it we did side by side tests of the other Gibbys in the store. After putting new strings on the F9, it easily sounded better than the others (10k range) with "shop age" strings.

Congratulations! Nicer finish these days too!

That picture makes great wallpaper on my computer. Simple lines, clean and elegant. The mandolin equivalent of Grace Kelly.

sure, it looks nice, but how far can you hit a baseball with it?

I celebrate the F9.

I got mine in May 2007 after flirting with them for a year or so. #In the back of my mind was the voice saying "buy one when a gooder comes along"

It did.

It has that funny buzzy snap that you hear coming from Big Mon's July '23, and a chop like large windy chonk. When you tremolo it is sweet and chimey, and when you dig in it fairly rattles.
