A friend sent me to an online music shop to look at a particular guitar, and
at the site I saw a pic of the KM-172.
It's an oval-hole A style with that pre-WWII Gibson wannabe look. #Nice.
Is this just another packaging of Asian assembly-line stuff, or is this one....
nicer, or...?
Just curious... #Thanks!

Didn't play the oval, but I played a KM-162 (f-hole, a style) at Elderly and I was impressed, considering that the price tag was $250.00. I thought about buying it, but I didn't. I liked the honey amber top, too. I'd like to get one someday for a traveller.
Edit:
The only darwback that I found was that I prefer a radiused fingerboard, but your not going to find that in this price range anyway.

They're nicer than you'd think after a setup. I was pleased. Old time sound, not really very punchy, but surprisingly pleasant. Considering the price!

I played a new Kentucky A oval hole (not sure about the number) recently and was quite impressed. It was set-up nicely and fit in well with the spontaneous jam at the music shop.
I have one of the 172s from Gianni. I really like it - good sound; plays well and a good price
