here's the last one. I really enjoy doing the distressed ones. I've built distressed F's since 1981 when I first began. They always seem to be something new and fresh everytime, always another way to do it and to learn something.
thanks.............

Ken - nice work - as always. Haven't most of your distressed models been one-piece backs? That two-piece back is sharp. Great grain.

Abalone inlay? Sweet! http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

Hi everyone,

Long time lurker..first time poster. Lots of good info here.

Anyway, this is my new mandolin - and it has a great tone...it's well balanced from low to high and really projects well! Ken was helpful and easy to work with from start to finish.

Very nice, what are the tuner buttons made of?

Absolutely gorgeous Ken - congratulations.

What I can't understand is why you leave it out on your back porch like that...

It's part of the distressing process....

Actually Ken doesn't build them, it's the Wood Nymphs and Forest Faries who do the building and leave them for Ken to find.

They appear to be normal tuners that went through the distressing process. I'm not sure if that's the answer you were looking for...I wanted a distressed finish based on what I had seen of another one of Ken's mandolins; I trusted Ken to give it a somewhat individual; somewhat different appearance and I was not disappointed.

Mike - Congratulations on your Silver Angel. #I was about to post a question to Ken on whether this mandolin was available or if it had been built for someone specific!

Looks like a beauty. #Enjoy that little angel!

Love those comments on the back porch being the 'distressing' environment and the Nymphs and Faeries building them and leaving them on the back porch!

Ken sure builds nice mandolins!
