that's neat. that Capek used to be mine i think. i scalloped the extension and put the faux frets in it.

just got this lebeda premium plus from Jeff@mandolins.net. i have owned a weber fern, flatiron f5, capek, rigel ct 110, pricetone, and a scot. this is the best mandolin i have had by far. it is brand new and has awesome tone and plays so easy. it is so much fun to play. i absolutely love it. workmanship is absolutely incredible. here's the front

or you can go to gregyboyd (http://www.gregboyd.com) and he has them. i think they are called kangaroo straps or something like that. i use to have a Janish A-5 that was an awesome mando for jazz and classical. but i had to seel it to get my red diamond f-5. i think i have some old photos i can post.

Beautiful instrument Dan! Love that wide grain look. How does it sound?

Here's a picture of Fisch #14. It always draws attention when it comes out of the case. Dan

Lets not forget the Fisch back. All the woods are from an Czech violin maker that is too old to produce violins, but has let Fischmeister Karal us the wood to produce mandolins. Dan

It's very nice. Bright, loud. Some funny stuff on the top- there's bearclaw (below bridge to left) and a knot shadow (top right near the treble point).

In fact, it's incredibly loud.

A very nice mandolin. I use it in Irish sessions, and it can drown out an accordian.

Real loud at my local Irish session...put's down the B@nj* any day...! http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

Yeah... light was coming #through a window from the bottom of the photo...makes em' look like weird sunbursts or something. #Better pic's at the link in my Sig.

What strings are everyone using on their Leb's? #J74 guy myself. # Anyone have a pickguard installed, or get one from Jiri? #

just curious,

Hey Dan B., do the Lebeda's have wider fingerboards than the fern or is that an optical illusion?

Only a little bit at the nut- the extension on the Leb is 3 courses wide, 2 on the Gibson..

Albert Whiting

i really like the bigger frets on mine. i can get a whole lot cleaner notes on the bigger frets without pushing down near as hard.
