Here is the Scoteleone that Keith Murchison built. #I am playing this beauty while he finishes up an F-5 for me and it's first show will get to be at the Ryman this weekend. #If anyone wants a Moneteleone style mando without paying $28,000.00 I would suggest you contact Keith about this thing because it is MUCH less and sounds great! #The color reminds me of the old 80's Flatiron F-5's.

A praise and worship group called The Selah Project. #Ray Hughes is the head of it if you know him. #He has some great teachings on Davidic worship and just music in general. #I won't turn this into a Christian discussion though! #To each their own! #Anyways, they are celebrating the 10th anniversary of the restoration of the Ryman and asked us to come. #It will be more of the acoustic thing but the normal band is very contemporary, hence the need for a pickup! #See ya Mav.

No problem Keith, just stating the obvious on your mandos! Anybody that hasn't played one of Keith's mandolins needs to. He has got the tone down and the workmanship! I am quite impressed and he is also the greatest guy anyone could work with. I am looking forward to the new F-5 Keith!

I am just curious... why did he make it with a 3-piece back instead of a 2- or 1-piece? Was there a particular reason?

I am not sure, you would have to ask him. It is cool and it does not affect the sound at all!

It is more of an aesthetic question. Martin made the D35s back in the 1960s with a three-piece back because Brazilian rosewood was becoming scarce. My 2 cents: I would have preferred a one piece, nicely flamed back.

It is a beautiful piece of work tho.
