I will be in the Madison, Wisconsin area on June 11 and 12 and 13 and will be free to play, listen and check out mandos. This is my first trip there-Does anyone know of music stores to check out and jams to attend/play in? I don't mind driving up to 2 hours to do so.
Thanks Rich Michaud

CHECK OUT SPRUCE TREE MUSIC. (SOMETIMES) NICE MANDO SELECTION.

http://www.swbmai.org/ has a calendar of jams and other events. Looks like there's a jam that Saturday in Spring Green (about 45 minutes west of Madison, and a very nice drive). Also a jam in Milwaukee on Sunday, which is about 70 miles east of us.

If you'll be here through Monday night, come to the jam at Paul's Speedway Bar, which starts at 6:30. On Mineral Point Road, just west of the Beltline highway (12/14).

Other than Spruce Tree Music, which is a great store and a lot of fun to visit, you may also want to check out Madison Music on the Beltline. #You can view websites for both, at http://www.sprucetreemusic.com and http://www.madisonmusic.com . #I'd probably avoide Ward-Brodt. #They have some nice Gibson guitars but their mandolin selection leaves a lot to be desired.
