I just wondered if anyone on the Cafe' was going to the Ozark Heritage Festival in West Plains, MO, June 18 - 20. There are going to be some great bands and some great jamming. The three headliners are Perfect Strangers, Bob Carlin and Big Smith. Also two great acts I know, Jim and Kim Lansford and the The Blackeyed Suzies will be be playing. Plus, my group, the The Catawissa Renegades, will be playing on the main stage at 3:30 on Sunday. In addition, there are nine other music acts playing. Here is a link to the festival site:

If you are going, let's get together and pick!

Sounds like a good time Johnny but since I'm going to the High Prairie Jamboree next weekend, where I'll get to see Big Smith, and a smaller festival the weekend after that I'll be recovering that weekend in June #http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

Gotta love the attitude of those Possum Carvers though. I loved this quote from their website.

"We want people to recognize something at the core of the music that seems familiar but bizarre, new and ancient, -- a peculiar attraction. Keeping the vital spark or spirit of the music alive is more important than a whole library of essays, recordings, and sheet music. Basically, when it's all said and done, we want to scare the crap out of people . . . and make 'em dance."
