I have recently been looking at mandolin videos on youtube.com for the first time. I found a ton of stuff by Homer & Jethro, even a Dave Apollon video. There is a lot of good stuff and a lot of bad stuff.

I was hoping someone would start a list of worthwhile videos to see. I'd like to view good ones without having to wade through so many bad ones.

My favorites so far are all the Homer & Jethro, the Apollon, the two from Victor Kilophides, and one I just saw tonight. I was putting in the winner's names from the winfield contest. Along with Anthony Hannigan's group of lesson videos, I found one of Bruce Greybill holding a live rattlesnake! The story posted with it says he was with Bruce Weber at the time. Weird stuff, but funny.

well like with most any music the best is really subjective...some of my fav's are Cafe members who may not even be in a band...they just produce a sound I like. I've found the "wading" part to be quite fun and informatve...ya never know what you'll find. Like diamonds it takes a lot of digging to find the ones that are golden...

Disclaimer...I don't know jack...or jill either for that matter. http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/rock.gif

I've often wondered if that video hasn't had the speed fiddled with (no pun intended)...it's sort of unreal those two.

There used to be a clip of Jethro and a bunch of others doing a great version of Groovin High but I think it got pulled. :-(

All of Mike Compton's videos are great. Easy to see his hands. I think his YouTube handle is Taterbug.

At first I just thought someone was a really big Compton fan (no reason not to be), until I saw the "taterbug" handle and figured out it was Mike himself.

Psssst. I do believe he's AKA "taterbug" here, too. If you're reading this, Mike "Thanks!"

For you classical fans, some choice playing by our own Ralf Leenen (http://www.youtube.com/profile?user=ralfleenen) of Belgium.
A good handful of videos by Modern Mandolin Quartet (http://www.youtube.com/user/binkleypaul)
