...well after a year old with playing and sound chamber time, this baby had developed a huge mid-range screams Monroe tunes / tone!

Do my eyes deceive me, or is that tailpiece off center? Beautiful mandolin.

Hard to tell in a photo where angles might not be straight but it looks good to me.

Very traditional looking for sure, nice work. What was the main thing you did different in the sound chamber? Or was it a number of things?
I like the curls on the back real old fashioned looking!

Nice looking mandolin. It might be the angle, but the tail peice does look off center somewhat.

I looked at some other photos on the cafe, and spotted a few other tp's that appeared to be out of alignment. Does that happen a lot?

I had an A5 a few years ago whose tailpiece was off center. The mandolin had nice tone, looked pretty good, etc, but was always "stiff" to play--I always wondered if the tp position was the cause.

A music store near me also had an A5L whose tp was so off center that it really looked bad. Hanging on the wall, it was the first thing I noticed.
