OK, following requests on the classical genre forum, hopefully here's a picture of my new mandolin made by Kai Dase of Nottingham, UK (who is primarily a violin maker but happily branches out now and again). It sounds very sweet in comparison to the Buchanan, but if anything is a little louder. It's like comparing a nylon strung guitar to a steel strung, I suppose. It's also very light - 644g compared to the Buchanan's 862g.
